About Me

My name is Kaz Thibodeau and painting is my passion. How cliché is that? As much as I hate sounding like the thousands of people who overuse use that word, the truth is, painting is my number one love in my life. I’m not sure what would happen to me if I couldn’t paint. Currently, most of my paintings are oil on canvas, however, I do dabble in watercolors, but mostly because I’m taking a break from using oils.

Portrait Painting

As much as I enjoy landscape painting, and I do enjoy relaxing in front of a beautiful landscape, my favorite subjects to paint is portraits. That includes, adult, child, and of course, pet portraits. Painting portraits, for me, is very rewarding. That’s not to say I haven’t spent a great deal of time struggling with finding my own style. For the longest time, I have spent countless hours watching Youtube tutorials and that famous British show, “Portrait Artist of the Year.” Just recently, I discovered what my style is, and I discovered that by simply changing my color palette.
