Wakefield Autumn Landscape / Raleigh NC

You must be wondering about an autumn scene popping up in June. My previous landscape was a North Carolina scene, somewhere in Raleigh. I have to say in addition to painting portraits, I love the landscape.

My brother Stu owns a five bedroom log cabin in Wakefield New Hampshire, in the White Mountains region of NH . Except for two weeks in the summer season, this is a water front vacation rental on Lake Province, for folks looking to spend a quit week by the lake. The area has lots to offer as far as activities for a family of all ages.

Last year, my Stu did some renovations to one side of the house and in October, just as he was ready to close the house down for the winter season, I joined him so I could photograph the updates. The images would be used for his website for booking families during the summer season.

October is such a beautiful time of year to be in the mountains, and this year I was lucky to be there during the peak of the foliage color change. The trees were bursting with vibrant color of orange, golds, browns, and the most beautiful reds. My sister-in-law Margaret and I took a day to drive around photographing beautiful landscapes. The painting called Wakefield Autumn Landscape is from one of those images.
