Watercolor Portrait of Travis

I thought it was time to attempt a portrait in watercolors. Travis is my great nephew and once again I captured the reference image from my family's  FaceBook page. There are tons of mistakes in this painting but I'm posting it anyway because I was able to capture a likeness of Travis, that was my first goal. I'll chalk it up as practice painting and be more mindful of the next child portrait I paint and hopefully avoid the same mistakes.

My long term goal is the become a professional portrait artist here in Raleigh, NC. I’m not sure that will include painting in watercolors. Watercolors is a nice break from painting in oils, but as I can see, I need lots more practice.
